In our third and final Smallholders Online Auction of the year, we were once again delighted with the strength and depth of entries. With 158 lots entered providing a wonderful selection from high-end breeding ewes, store pigs to wheelbarrows, the Smallholders Online Auction has now established itself as a popular and permanent fixture in the Hassall Brothers auction calendar.
November’s auction saw trade peak at £3,150 for lot 67 (Dutch-Spotted inlamb ewe – Tardoes Dottie Lottie) with an overall strong trade on all registered Dutch-spotted ewes brought forward averaging at £1,150. The auction also saw a strong showing of sheep and included the highly-anticipated entry of Snowdonia Goliath Valais straws with a total of 16 straws selling at an average of £216 per straw. Other notable entries included a cracking run of Badger and Blue Face Texels with lot 1 – Little Whisker Crocus reaching £2,100. Our Smallholders auction would certainly not be complete without a good turnout of Valais and this auction was no exception with 6 lots passing the £2,000.
It was pleasing to see an increase in sundry and related machinery entries in the auction which included Ifor Williams trailer, Quad Bike, rotavators and fencing equipment.
