UK & Ireland Auctions

Q – Where are you based?

A – Hassall Brother’s head office is based in Cheshire, England. All lots entered in our auctions will provide a town and county location for each item.

Q – If I win an item where do I collect it from?

A – You will collect your item from the location (town & county) as stated on the lot description.

Q – I have won an item, when can I collect it?

A – Once payment is received, Hassall Brothers will provide you with the vendors contact details and address so that you can arrange collection.

Q – Can I arrange a viewing of an item?

A – All lots entered are available to view unless otherwise stated. In addition, we can provide the vendor’s contact details if you would like to ask any questions directly.

Q – How do I bid?

A – In order to bid, you will need to register for online bidding. To register simply click on the following link and complete the required information (this will take less than 2 minutes). Once you have completed the form, you will receive an email from us requiring you to click on the email link to confirm and activate your account (please do check your trash/junk folder). Once confirmed, you will be all set to bid!

Q – I have won an item, what happens now and how do I pay?

A – Once the auction has ended you will receive an invoice via email for your winning lot(s) within 24 hours. You can pay by direct bank transfer, by card online (via the payment link on your invoice) or over the phone by card.

Q – I have registered to bid for your Monthly Machinery auction but I am interested in bidding in your upcoming Smallholders auction. In order to bid, do I need to register for the Smallholders auction too?

A  –No,  once you have registered for our online auctions you can bid and view any Hassall Brothers auction for both UK and Ireland.

Q – How do I enter an item into your online auction?

A – The easiest way to enter an item is via our online entry forms. However, if you have limited access or difficulty with this you can download a PDF entry form.

Q – I am interested in an item in the Ireland Online auction but live in the UK, can I still bid and buy?

A – Yes certainly, however please note that our Ireland Online auctions are all in Euro currency. Any items you were to win would need to be paid in Euros.

Q – What are your vendor charges?

A – All our online auctions for both UK and Ireland are NO SALE NO FEE, we also don’t charge a lotting/entry fee. Commission is only charged when you sell an item, our commission charges are as follows:

Machinery/Fodder – 5% – capped at £250/€250 per lot

Smallholders – 5% – capped at £250/€250 per lot

Genetics – 5% – capped at £250/€250 per lot

Memorabilia – 10%

Q – What are your buyer charges?

A – Buyer’s premium is charged as follows:

Machinery/Fodder – 3.95% – capped at £250/€250 per lot

Smallholders – 5% – capped at £250/€250 per lot

Genetics – 5% – capped at £250/€250 per lot

Memorabilia – 10%
